A college project which aimed to commemorate the centenary of the 1916 rising. The brief was to design an automaton which celebrated Irish heritage and culture. 

The piece evokes imagery of the skeletal remains of Megaloceros giganteus or the great Irish elk which once roamed the landscape of ancient Ireland. As the Elk rises and falls so too do the trees and buildings, symbolizing the struggles of an emerging society and the natural ebb and flow of time.
